Reflecting on it, a question arises that has been drumming on my mind for years: Are we all dissatisfied, do we need love and recognition, and aren't we all looking in the wrong place?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
- I think so! But why is it so hard for us to believe it?<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Surely you remember that story of the donkey that, tied to a windmill and with a carrot hanging right in front of its snout, goes round and round trying to reach it, which makes the windmill work. What are the two essential conditions for the donkey not to stop?<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 Be hungry.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 That's one, and the second?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Swallow everything they tell you without chewing it is what has you programmed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Damn! And may it never reach her!<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
- Exact. May you never reach it. You can't make a satisfied donkey go around uselessly.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
What moves society is the dissatisfaction of man<\/span><\/b>. The one who feels incomplete, imperfect, empty. There is always something missing, there is always something to change. He goes through the world with a hole in his chest, lost, trying to fill it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 And what are the carrots that society offers us?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 There are all kinds of them, the most obvious are the material ones: The new car, the most recent computer, the fashionable cell phone, fashionable clothes and cosmetics, having more money.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 although apparently those carrots if you can reach them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Not really, every year they offer new, better, more modern cars. Every month there are more powerful, faster, smaller computers. Fashion changes every season. And money, how much is enough?<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
-As we did not receive the love we needed in childhood, as they did not help us appreciate our worth, as we were not recognized, now we go through life looking to fill that hole?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 We come into this world completely vulnerable and our parents and guardians instead of treating us with the respect that a guest of the unknown deserves, with the admiration that the greatest miracle deserves and with the love that one of the most sensitive beings in this world needs world; they conditioned us, destroyed our beauty, filled us with fears and doubts.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 Why would our parents do that if they love us so much? <\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Due to unconsciousness, ignorance, fear. Because they were treated the same. Because it was up to us to change the state of things, not them.<\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 That is a great responsibility!<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Freedom only comes with responsibility.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 And how do we fill that void we have?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 For now let\u2019s reconsider how is it not filled<\/b>that emptiness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
– It is not filled with possessions or money,<\/i><\/b> that is clear.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 It is not filled with achievements. It doesn't matter how much you accomplish in life, or how hard you work, or how high you climb the ladder of "success."<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 If we all carry that emptiness, it is not filled with a relationship either, correct?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Many people come together to \u201cshare their loneliness\u201d but an emptiness does not cover a hole\u2026 it makes it bigger.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
\u2013 So that is not filled with anything that comes from outside! <\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
-That emptiness that we all feel, that dissatisfaction with what we are and with what our life is, that hole that robs us of peace, fills from the inside out!<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
- How? <\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
