In society, there is a set of concepts that are considered valuable, praiseworthy, admirable or sacred: The country, the nation, the flag, honor, honor, duty; just to name a few.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Have you ever considered that all those words are just ideas?<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
In the United States, to convince young people to join the army and go to war, they say: "serve your country, it is an honor to serve your nation." Pe\u00f1a Nieto also just said it on army day. He said that the greatest privilege that a Mexican has is to serve the country.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Thousands of young people died in the so-called "Iraq Liberation War." Thousands of beautiful young people full of life, full of possibilities, of things to enjoy, were convinced by their government to go kill a bunch of strangers, men, women and children.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
To parents who lose their children in war, the US government gives them a flag folded in a triangle and tells them that their beloved son died with honor fulfilling the duty of serving his country.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Well, yeah it's true.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
It is not! The nation is a concept, something that does not exist. Honor and duty are just ideas. Their children died defending the economic interests of a few! They died because weapons are big business, only if they are used. They died because the one with the most oil is the most powerful.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Your political leaders are a bunch of liars, fakers, manipulators, psychotics, sick of money and power who don't care about your welfare or the welfare of the people. They get into politics to see what they can steal, to see who they can boss around and manipulate, their thirst for money reaches ridiculous extremes: they have so much money that they won't be able to spend it for three generations. Even a child can see the madness in that.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Look closely, observe during the political campaign season, you can clearly see it in the advertisements: politicians with false smiles, congratulating mothers like today, May 10, 2012, with hugs and hypocritical words that can be seen on their faces and body posture.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Okay, I understand, but what does this have to do with daily life?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
Just as smokers and soldiers lose their lives by blindly following their conditioning, all of us lose our peace, our tranquility and ruin our lives by "concepts" for things that we have been told are valuable, praiseworthy, admirable or sacred.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Things that do not exist and that we have never stopped to analyze?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
Exact<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Like what?<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
Success, excellence, wealth, social prestige...<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
And what role does religion play in this? <\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
