A speaker began his seminar by showing the audience a 1,000.00 peso bill. Addressing the spectators, he asked:

– Who wants this ticket?

Many hands went up. Then he said:

– I am going to give it to some of you, but first let me do this…

Grabbing it with both hands, he crumpled it into a ball, leaving it all crumpled.

Then he asked again:

– Who still wants it? - The hands went back up -.

Well, what if I do this to him…? He dropped it to the ground and stomped on it. He picked it up and showed it to the audience again.

And so, all wrinkled and dirty…do you still want it?

Hands stayed up.

– Friends, you have learned a very valuable lesson: no matter what I have done to the bill, you still want it because its value has not diminished. It is still worth the same 1,000.00 pesos.

“Many times in our lives we fall, wrinkle, or roll on the ground because of the decisions we make and the circumstances that surround us. We come to feel that we are worthless. But no matter what we've been through or what may happen to us, we never lose the value we have. Dirty or clean, downcast or victorious, we are equally valuable."
