Relate from the roles of the ego without making contact with the other.
Throughout our days we adopt established roles and roles because they are common places, safe and comfortable for everyone. However, if you get lost in these roles you don't relate to the other, it is the masks that interact.
If your mom has always related to you from her role as mother, you don't know her. Who is this woman really? What are your dreams? Do you enjoy your sexuality? You do not know because from his role, these issues are not discussed.
If you observe one of your days you will realize that you do not make contact with anyone. In the elevator you talk about the weather; in the store you are the customer and the other the shopkeeper, all day you spend in the "as if".
Every time you identify with the roles of the ego, that is, you think you are the role, you abandon yourself, you lose yourself in acting.
A list of some roles that obviously mess with your personal power:

- The good
- The Saint
– The underdog
– The hypochondriac
- The tyrant
– The complacent
– The know-it-all
– The easy
– The rescuer
- Judge
– The martyr
- The old man
- The victim
- The male
– The useless
- The hard
– The Don Juan
– The chatterbox

 To lie.
Lying is one more of the many manipulative strategies of the ego, however, I want to delve into it because the dysfunction of our society is based on lying. Lying is what ruins our relationships and what sustains the hypocritical society in which we live.
We already know that our political and religious leaders lie to us, we know that the media lies; we lie to our loved ones and the truth, which should be the only resort, is always the last resort.
The lie is so embedded in our relationships that we no longer recognize it, we have an implicit agreement to believe our lies so as not to confront or cause problems. That is why our relationships are shallow and unsatisfying. Lies are the basis and cause of betrayals; infidelity, disappointments.

Lying is abandoning yourself and is obviously a betrayal of yourself. Every time you lie you lose your center and the opportunity to regain your personal power.
