Coaching with a capital “C” and a lowercase “c”

Historically, coaching has typically been focused on achieving improvements in the performance of specific behaviors. An effective Coach of this type (voice, acting, baseball, etc.) observes the person's behavior, gives him approval and guides him on how to improve in specific situations and contexts. This involves promoting the development of the person's behavioral competence through careful observation and feedback.
However, Coaching that promotes generative change must provide support at different levels: behaviors, capacities, beliefs, values and even identity. We refer to this type of Coaching as Coaching with a capital “C”.
Coaching with a lowercase “c” is more focused on the level of behavior and refers to the process of helping other people to achieve or improve a certain performance in their behavior. Coaching methods with a small “c” derive mainly from the sports coach model, which promotes awareness of resources and capabilities, as well as the development of conscious competence.
Coaching with a capital “C” involves helping people achieve effective results on several levels. Emphasizes generative change, focuses on strengthening identity and values, making dreams and goals come true, encompassing Coaching techniques with a lowercase “c” and including much more.
This is the trend of third generation Coaching since the profession of the Professional Coach has also evolved.
