Here are seven recommendations to help you transcend those ingrained ideas of vanity. All of them are intended to prevent you from identifying yourself in a false key with the ego and vanity.

1. Don't be offended.
The conduct of others is no reason to remain immobilized. What offends you only serves to weaken. If you look for occasions to feel offended, you will find them every two times three.
It's your ego in full action, convincing you that the world shouldn't be the way it is. But you can become a taster of life and correspond with the universal Spirit of Creation. You cannot reach the strength of intention feeling offended.
Of course, act to eradicate the horrors of the world, which emanate from massive identification with the ego, but live in peace. As A Course in Miracles reminds us: Peace is of God; those who are part of God are not at ease except in their own peace.”
Being offended creates the same destructive energy that offended you and that leads to attack, counterattack and war.
