How does the ego enslave us? through fear

Life is not safe, it is dangerous. It is a mysterious adventure, and we never know what is going to happen to us in the next moment.
The greatest fear that the thinking being experiences is to die, because we do not know where death is going to take us. We are afraid of losing ourselves, our bodies, our affective and material possessions, and naturally, we do not want to detach ourselves. We do not realize that it is the most important lesson we come to learn in life.
We forget that we are souls. We doubt that we really are, because it is not verifiable. We refuse to accept that our body is temporary and it pains us a lot that it is not eternal.
But there are also many people who are very afraid of living and do not take risks. They prefer to live in mediocrity, taking care of themselves, distrusting everything and defending themselves so as not to get lost.
Fear loses its force when reasoned when you understand where it comes from and are able to put it under the microscope of reason to analyze it. Then, you even smile at him when you realize that it was your way of protecting yourself to survive, that you only needed to reason to erase him from your memory.
Fear is something natural that helps you survive. It stops you from doing stupid things; for instance; you don't jump from the top of a building because you know that, since you're not a bird, you can't fly and if you fall from that height you're going to die. That fear you feel is innate and essential, because you have a goal that is to live!
Fear of the unknown is normal; You must take precautions to protect yourself. But when you already know the risks and reason about them, you draw up your plan, design strategies that will protect you and continue forward. So you overcome that fear with intelligence.
The fears that really enslave you are the ones you invent, the fears for no reason, for example: "I don't get on the plane because many die in plane crashes", and you stop traveling and miss out on the privilege of getting to know other countries, other people. , other landscapes, other customs, just out of fear. What nonsense! If you see it like this, you should not lie down to sleep in a bed, because it is the place where most people die. How dangerous are beds!
Being afraid is how you waste the energy you need to live the most, and it is how you get closer to the death you fear so much. Anger, rage, jealousy, resentment, hatred, the desire for revenge, bring as a consequence a tremendous discharge of energy, they undermine you internally with explosives; that when detonated destroy part of you. So you get sick, you suffer, and you lose the ability to move safely and with dignity in your life.
Do not let your fears win you, they kill you little by little and when the day of death arrives they find you dead in life, because you have buried yourself.
Get rid of fears. Face them, reason with them and remember that fear is part of death, not life. Fill yourself with love, so that love becomes a shield that protects you against the inclemencies of fear.
