By the way, I leave the subject of the will until the end of the book, so that it remains engraved in your memory and you understand that, without this quality working at its best, you will not be able to achieve what you set out to do.
In order to carry out your transformation, you must understand how the energy of the will operates.
All energy or force must be controlled and directed so that it produces beneficial results.
The will is born of the intellect and the heart; it must be inspired by a noble intention for it to work positively.
We must exercise self-control, have control of our thoughts and feelings. Thus, our actions will be constructive.
How can we pretend that the cells of our body obey, if we are not even able to control their most minimal gestures and habitual behaviors?
First we must have knowledge about what we want to achieve, know where we want to go and where we will direct our efforts.
We must eliminate the word fight from our mind, because, by thinking of fighting, we are already wasting our energy and we get tired before we start. Let's change it to the term conscious effort, so that the mind acts intelligently.
Let's take a look: what is done before putting a machine to work? First, we must know where it starts and then where the switch is to be able to stop it. And it is that without that simple knowledge, we cannot start working.
The same thing happens with the will: we must first have information about what we are going to put our attention and effort into so that our intention begins to operate.
The energy of the will starts with the desire to; do a certain activity. You must already be trained and disciplined to apply it in the right direction. That is why self-knowledge and self-control are so important.
Children must be educated from a very young age with these parameters, so that they become successful people in everything they undertake. Please, not for the purpose of manipulating them!, but with the loving intention
and respectful of educating them free, happy and successful in what they like to do and that gives them pleasure; Of course, giving them a good example as mothers and fathers.
The training of the will begins by applying it to small details. Later, by thinking, feeling and practicing the power of the will in a disciplined way, you will be able to project your strength to face the greatest challenges.
How can we overcome an illness, if we constantly put our attention on it, observing the symptoms and their consequences, instead of applying our attention to thoughts of health? The mind, then, sends orders to our cells to activate and begin to balance.
The worst thing we can do is whip ourselves with memories of the past, full of sadness, loss and suffering, or worry about what may happen in the future. The only thing that this attitude achieves is the gradual weakening of our will.
By having control of our thoughts, the feeling is controlled and directed; our actions then are congruent and build. Everything we want to do; it must be grounded in an ideal directed towards the good, not guided by whims inspired by selfishness.
We must take care of the reactions of the instincts, because they respond automatically without reasoning and can lead us to make mistakes, although also; sometimes, they serve us as a defense to survive.
The will handles the impulses that push us, with extra energy to do what we want.
To correct negative habits we must use reason, but reason needs to have information to be able to draw up a plan and choose the best way to subdue them. Observation will be our ally and will lead us to discover the reasons why negative habits were formed. The will at that moment can enter into action, because it already knows the perfect target where it is going to go.
We must put our will at the service of love so that it always produces kind and positive acts.
The world would be better if our wills were united to do good.
